Welcome To seaneill.comHey, welcome to seaneill.com. I’m Sean Neill, this is my website and thanks for stopping by. I’ve been playing around with ideas for this site for a little while and have finally begun to put pen to paper. In this post, my very first on seaneill.com, I’ll introduce myself, tell you what to expect from this site, my motivations, and more.

Introduction

So, like I said, my name is Sean Neill. I’m a 14-year old in high school right now. My main interests are sports, design (mostly for the web) and outdoorsy stuff. I play baseball, basketball, soccer, I run, bike, hike, etc. In terms of design, about 10 months ago I started thinking about starting a website with some friends about news and sports. So, I started learning HTML and CSS with the help of my older brother, and soon, EatYourSalad was born. EYS went really well for a couple months; Jared, Peter and I wrote a few articles a week on politics, baseball and such. I manually updated the home page, along with every category subpage and manually formatted each article (wow, I was so innocent back then). But, eventually, it became clear that we didn’t have the time to keep this up and in the early summer of ‘08, EYS died.

But, that didn’t mean that my interest in web design died. I continued to expand on my knowledge of the core web languages (HTML and CSS) and extended into the world of JavaScript, PHP, design software such as Photoshop, and more. I bought magazines, I bought books and devoured online resources. And, here I am.

What To Expect

On seaneill.com, I’ll be writing not just about web design, but also about life in general, about sports (perhaps about my beloved New York Mets), about school, etc. In terms of web design, though, you can expect tips and tricks from my short-lived life as a “web devigner” (designer and developer). I also plan to have some sort of lifestream featured on this site, to highlight my many online presences on services such as Twitter and Last.fm. In addition, given my steeped interest in Wordpress, I will be developing and releasing themes on this site for the world’s best CMS and blogging software, both free and, gasp, premium (when I get really good). Basically, this site will be a place to express my creative ventures and share my ideas with the internet.

You, the Reader

You can help seaneill.com by submitting my articles to sites like Digg and Delicious. I look forward to sharing my ideas with you.

Once again, thanks a lot for stopping by.
