Best of The Week #1

Best of The Week #1This was a really exciting week, not only for the design community, but for the world as a whole. On Tuesday, Carsonified held its Future Of Web Design conference in New York City (I was there and it was awesome!) and, in an event of great historic significance, America elected Barack Obama, making him the first African American president-elect ever in the United States. So, it is only fitting that on this very week I should begin my Best Of The Week Series (the best images, sites, articles, tutorials, videos, etc. of the week). Expect BOTW posts to be published every Sunday/Monday.

If you would like to contribute to the BOTW posts at seaneill.com, please email me at submissions@seaneill.com. In your email, please include a title for your submission, a description (optional), a url (very important!), your website (along any other contact info you wish to share; for example, your twitter username) and (if applicable) an image. I’m looking for inspirational pieces (for example, illustrations, photomanipulations, etc), cool sites and web apps (whether it be for their design or for their functionality), interesting articles (preferably on the topics of design and technology but I definitely will expand these limitations if your submission is particular interesting), helpful tutorials (whether it be for Photoshop or Wordpress, etc), reso. If I like your submission, I will include it in my BOTW post for that week along with a link to your website (free traffic!).

America Elects Obama (and More Election Stuff)

On Tuesday, in a culmination of two plus years of campaigning, primaries, debates and seemingly neverending news coverage, Americans weighed in on what is considered by some to be the most important election of our generation. And the choice was clear. In a momentous decision, Americans chose Obama as their president elect, making him the first African American in America to ever hold that title.
